Nissan Note - 84.1% pass rate

At the risk of sounding like a broken record – it is always worth checking your windscreen wipers before sending your car in for its MoT, and changing them if the blades look damaged. Of the Nissan Notes that went through their first MoT in 2016, 6.3 per cent failed on this front, which is 140 per cent worse than average.

The Note maintained the Japanese reputation for reliability in other areas, though, outperforming the average when it came to its lights, tyres and brakes. Some of the cars that went through their test in 2016 will have been the boxier model that was sold between 2006 and 2013, while some would have been the current model that was introduced that year.
