Skoda Citigo – 88.4% pass rate

Given the Citigo is essentially a Volkswagen Up with a Skoda twist, it’s little surprise that the two cars perform much the same when it comes to the first MoT. Like the Up, it’s the lamps, reflectors and electricals that cause the most failures, accounting for 6.5 per cent of failures.

The driver’s view of the road is the second biggest culprit when it comes to scuppering success, but only 2.5 per cent of cars fail due to this, which is 36 per cent better than the other cars that went through the MoT first time in 2013.
