One of the most surprising aspects to come out of The MoT Files is the amount of regional variations. You wouldn't have thought that the MoT test (and whether you pass or fail) would vary that much - but it does. In fact, every single one of the postcode areas in our top ten is in the South East. South-East London (SE) – 66% pass rate
The SE postcode area covers numerous London suburbs, many of which are well served by public transport and have plenty of local amenities, meaning car owners don’t have to cover so many miles. They’ll tend to travel at lower speeds, too, which helps reduce wear.
