One of the most surprising aspects to come out of The MoT Files is the amount of regional variations. You wouldn't have thought that the MoT test (and whether you pass or fail) would vary that much - but it does. In fact, every single one of the postcode areas in our top ten is in the South East. Like first place Romford, Enfield is within the M25. Most cars in the London area tend to spend their time at low speed, covering fairly few miles in mild weather conditions, which all bodes well for the condition of a car and goes some way to explaining the average pass rate of 70%. They also tend to be newer than cars in other areas of the UK.
