Car failed MOT so a friend suggested to take it to AFH1. Took the car - on top of the issues the MOT centre identified, they also told me that the clutch was slipping and needs to be changed immediately. All the work was done and paid. After I collected the car, the clutch failed again after 5 minutes. Took the car back. They repaired it. After couple of months the clutch failed again. Was told 5 times by them that they will arrange the collection and I don't need to worry. On the 6th time I called them within the same week (as somehow no collection took place) was told that they don't do any collection, and I had to arrange and pay everything myself to get the car to them. So paid AA and got it towed. It took them more than a week just to start looking at the car as I was not a paying customer. Therefore all the other cars were more priority. After that was told that they have identified the issue - slave cylinder - that part is not covered by warranty so I have to pay for that. Paid. Was told the car will be ready after 3pm. Arrived 4pm - they had not even started replacing the part. Was told that "everything is ready, just the battery needs re-connecting" and it should be a couple of minutes. (The car had been parked on the far side of the yard so I would not see it, but I still had noticed it when I came in). At 5pm was again told that it needs just a couple more touches to be ready. At 5:30pm the car was finally pushed by 2 mechanics into the garage to start replacing the part. I was given the car back at 6pm just before they closed. This time the car lasted around 2 miles before the clutch failed again. Called them the next morning to tell that they need to either fix it or I want my money back. Get screamed at by the owner that how do I dare to even suggest that and that it is my responsibility to get the car back to them or they wont fix anything. Again paid the AA to tow the car to them. Again it took them almost a week just to look at it. And again they are definitely sure that another part (this time the master cylinder)(which is again part of the clutch system, but not covered by the warranty), which needs replacing and they again demanded that I pay more. Asked how did they manage to put all the clutch together and not notice the damaged master cylinder as it had been in good order when they put it back and tested. Was told that as it breaks randomly - it might have broken after their road test and within these 3 miles when I drove it outside their yard, therefore they are not going to take any responsibility. Currently am still in legal battle to recover all the costs. So if you have a choice - choose any other garage. Good points - cheap prices. But again - there is a reason for that.
