Cars that have an MoT test in Bristol (BS) postcodes have a 55 per cent chance of passing, which is towards the bottom of the national table.
Cars MoT'd in this postcode have higher relative failure rates on all the common reasons for failure and every year of registration has a higher failure rate than the national average, excepting 1981 and 1984. There are very few cars from those years represented in the figures, though, so it’s not worth reading too far into.
It's more of a mixed picture for manufacturers. Many are below the national average, though several manufacturers including Lexus have above average pass rates in BS areas compared to the nationwide average.
Bristol performs similarly to Portsmouth and Aberdeen, with the same average pass rate.
