On 31st October i took my car to Pullmans Volkswagen Durham for a Major Service and MOT and accepted the offer of a free health check. I was told wipers were split and needed to be replaced to psss mot which i agreed to have done Imagine my surprise to find that the car had a failed MOT certificate (and on the DVLA record) on this issue, the wipers were replaced then the car was given a pass certificate. I understood the health check was to flag up issues and to have them rectified before the MOT or else what is the point of it. Also is it not logical and good practise to do the service before the MOT !! This is my second experience of this kind at the same garage. Last year when my car was in again for service and MOT I was asked if I had any concerns. I said that I did believe there was a problem with the brake calipers and could they look at them for me. Again they gave the car a failed MOT replaced the caliper then gave it a pass certificate. The car now has a record of fails for everyone to see at VOSA/DVLA through no fault or negligence from myself. The result is they still fail your car regardless of major service or health check which anyone would know should be carried out before mot.My advice dont have a service or health check at the same time as mot it makes know diffence to the outcome of failing your m.o.t.

Terrible service from a main dealer. Happy enough to take your money but once there is issues and you want a refund they are unwilling and not helpful. absolutely disgusting behaviour from Pulman. Purchase a Golf R only for it to throw plumes of smoke out 20 miles down the road. No help to recover the car. Wanted a refund and they were still pushing the car onto me. Only to offer £100 and 12 months more warranty. Once I requested the refund the dealer took no responsibility in the matter asking me to cancel the finance when it there own issue to sort. and they wouldn't refund my deposit/cash price which was nearly £20k on the car. Terrible aftersales. no compassion in the matter that they had taken that much money from me and wouldn't even bother themselves to speed the service up since what happened. Wouldn't waste my time. Salesman was nice though - That deserves 1*

On holiday in the North the petrol cover on our Golf was snapped off leaving the filler cap exposed. We rang the Garage around 16.30 and they arranged to supply, fit and paint a replacement the next day. On delivering the car they then took us to our destination that day AND delivered our car to us in the afternoon allowing us to proceed on our way. All the staff, from Receptionist to garage personnel to the driver were exceptionally friendly and helpful
