How do I run-in my new Porsche Macan 3.0 petrol?
I am about to take delivery of my new Porsche Macan with the 3.0 petrol engine (as recommended by you almost 18 months ago). Within a week of doing so I have to make a three hour journey north, mostly on the M6. From your newspaper column, I am aware this is not ideal for a brand new engine. How should I modify my driving to treat the engine as kindly as kindly as possible, given that I intend to keep the car at least 10 years?
Alter your speed every 15 minutes so you are not driving at constant revs. (The traffic may well do this for you.) Very bad for a new engine to thrum along at a constant 1800rpm or whatever.
