I have used Clinton for many years now. My ancient car failed it's MOT after 17 years, (alas) but (the manager Gary),obtained original parts, with a lot of problems and fitted them at less than Main Dealer prices. Why would I go anywhere else?

Left my car there for an MOT. There was nothing at all wrong with the engine. They decided that the spark plugs needed changing. I only found out later they used spark plugs of the wrong spec. I found this out when my engine began to die. This garage caused the problem and charged over £500 for it. They should not be in business.

I had a broken windscreen washer and went in to get it sorted. They made me sign a pre job contract, which should have raised my suspicions. after 24 hours, quote came back for £220 for a motor replacement in the windscreen washer My own mechanic is now back off his hols and quoted me £80 I went round to pick up my car and they charged me £45.... says it too a specialised team 45 minute for a full diagnostic check. I already told them it was broken. Initially they said there was no charge, now £45 THAT'S £60 PER HOUR!!!!!! and my windscreen washer still doesn't work called up to complain and he waffled for half an hour about time is money....he seems to have plenty of both on his hands

Thought I would give a no franchised garage a go with the promise of being cheap than the main dealer. So booked my Subaru Legacy in for it's service and MOT, I was charged not the price I was quoted, in fact it was only £10.00 cheaper than a main dealer. I had the car since new and it's my pride and joy and is immaculate. Checking over the car after the service I noticed that the engine was loose on it's fixing further investigation revealed that the fixing clip were broken off. Also the number of greasy finger prints over all the engine components together with the steering wheel. Reporting this back to the garage mechanic who was very apologetic said he would order me a new engine cover from the main dealer, and two days later I received a phone call stating the the part would have to come from Japan and would take two weeks. However this was last time they called me, three weeks later I visited the garage to collect the new cover. NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SREVICE

Clinton service my wife's 18yr old Fiesta it has never failed it's MOT, but more important is the honesty. I recently took my car into Clinton because the main dealer had identified a fault with the power steering that had been' replaced' after an accident. Clinton's response was immediate and accurate. 'The insurance company's repairer(not the main dealer) had not replaced the power steering, but fitted a reconditioned unit, which was in-complete, in that new track rod ends should have been fitted at the time'. RESULT The Insurance company's repairer when told of this error had the car in the following day to complete the job.
