Engine destroyed due to spark plug failure

A few weeks ago the spark plug failed on my 2010 Ford Fiesta, damaging the engine in the process. As a result I've been told it will cost £3300 to repair the vehicle. It would appear that the third and major service, when the spark plugs must be changed, was not carried out properly. I am now in despair, as Ford customer relations are not in the slightest bit interested as the car is out of warranty. They will not comment on or help with complaints about the dealership either. Can you help?
If the service was not carried out correctly and if the spark plug failed as a consequence of that then you have a Small Claims County Court case against the dealer that carried out the service: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
