BMW turbo failure
On 16 May, ten minutes after my BMW 320d's 87,000 miles dealership oil service the turbo failed. I top up the oil between services and always use the correct oil. Was this possibly dealer error and,if so, what might have happened?
This happened with another reader's car a couple of days ago. The garage explanation was that the oil change stirred up debris in the old oil and that destroyed the turbo bearing oil seals that were already on the way out. Obviously more likely if an oil flush was used before draining the old oil.
