Is my local garage saving me money or cutting corners?
My Hyundai i30 diesel is now out of warranty. The independent garage who will service it tells me that it is not necessary to change coolant and brake fluid. They will check boiling point of fluid and strength of coolant. Is this good practice?
Yes, better than ripping you off for a brake fluid change or coolant change that is unnecessary. But after 4 or 5 years the coolant will need replacing because the corrosion inhibitors in it will have deteriorated.
