Dealer loyalty brings its own rewards.
My wife and I are now driving our eighth Proton car. What this has brought us over those years is a very good reward for our loyalty to the same dealer, Reg Thompson Cars of Keighley, West Yorks. Small problems have been dealt with speedily and at no cost, and the cars have all been fully serviced and only one had a significant problem over the years involved.
I mention this merely to illustrate that loyalty can sometimes bring its rewards. Please nominate Reg for an entry in the Good Garage Guide.
You make a very good point. If readers do not support good and helpful small local dealers, then those dealers will vanish and any massive discounts readers get on their new cars buy buying via the internet could be wiped out by the huge costs of using big franchised dealers.
