Do you have Golden Spanner Awards? I'd like to nominate Trevor King of Epsom for repairing the ECU in my A-Class Mercedes-Benz.

My 10-year-old, 30,000 miles, serviced by Mercedes-Benz A-Class suffered the dreaded ECU fault warning light. The Mercedes-Benz garage informed me a repair would cost £1700 if it was the gearbox or £6000 plus the £1700 for the repair. Then I remembered your reference to Trevor King, the automatic gearbox specialist of Epsom. Mr King told me to have the car brought to him on a low loader. AA Relay obliged. The repair diagnosed a faulty computer module. This he replaced at a cost including VAT and petrol in the tank of £474. I was delighted and offered Mr King £500 for him to have a drink on me. He refused to accept the additional money stating, "You have paid enough. I will not take advantage of a motorist who has been let down.” If you consider an Honest John: Golden Spanner Award, I would nominate Trevor King who is a credit to the motoring industry.
We do make 'Highly Approved Trader' (HAT) Awards. And I have known Trevor for donkey's years. He does deserve it. So this nomination has been accepted. More: www.kingautomatics.com
