Do I really need to have my Vauxhall Insignia's lights adjusted to drive on the continent?

I am advised by Vauxhall Customer Service that my Insignia (fitted with halogen lights) must have the headlamps adjusted and taped up by a workshop to enable me to travel on the continent. It will be necessary to revisit the workshop on returning to the UK for the headlamps to be readjusted for driving in this country. I find this somewhat inconvenient and possibly quite expensive, bearing in mind that I could adjust my previous Omega. I would welcome your comments please.
Ridiculous, but that's what comes from living on an island where people drive on the opposite side of the road from mainland Europe. Some cars do have switchable dip, list here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/switchable-dip/
