I only do 3000 miles a year - do I need to service my car annually?

I have a 2016 Ford Focus and its MoT is due end March. Its only done 3000 miles since its last MoT and service. Should I get it serviced or could I get away with just an MoT this time?
Service intervals are always given as both a mileage and a time period - for example, 12 months or 12,000 miles. This is to allow for a variance in mileage between owners. Although your car has covered a low mileage since the last service, we would strongly recommend having the vehicle serviced to ensure it is kept in the best condition.
