I tried Woodlesford Motor Spares in February 2018. I explained I had a car which is not worth much but I have been trying to keep it roadworthy and do all I can with preventative maintenance. Okay so MOT requires new exhaust and it was for a fair price. I then trusted them. Second year I had a free MOT offer from Halfords. Car failed on emissions and I preferred Woodlesford Motor Spares to carry out any paid work. I did all knew with 'Italian tune up', DIY service and explained this to the garage before the test. Car passes test but it was surprising how much the bill was. £86 to ''flush the engine''. Please, this is completely made up. I did trust this place and took his word. I went back to ask for a cost breakdown of the work carried out on my cheap car. I was literally shooed out of the shop, told in other words how its my fault for driving a cheap car, and that it doesn't help that I do short journeys (not true). Clearly I've been overcharged because I tried to keep costs down by going to Halfords to find out what I could fix first. Unfortunately because I've been stung £86 for phantom work I have to try somewhere else next year. Please any advice for a place which doesn't sting you for DIY servicing at home??

I Dropped my car in for an MOT and Service to these guys, they were really helpful and were really honest about the car and what needed doing to it, which was nothing. They said there was a couple of very minor things which the touched up but wouldn't charge for them as they were so minor and didn't involve any parts. MoT was also cheaper than anywhere I could find it at the time and it was all done within the day. Great little local Garage.
