TC Harrison, Burton upon Trent

I have a 59 reg Fiesta Zetec S on 17 inch rims ( yes I noted you comments on January 14th!) and on December 28th, had the misfortune to damage the nearside front wheel on a pothole and a resulting front tyre. I unsuccessfully attempted to repair the tyre with canister of foam supplied with the car. The AA came out and discovered the inside of the rim had been damaged and took the car to TC Harrisons in Burton. TCH called me the next day and said they had found that the offside front was so out of true that it could not be balanced although there was no sign of any damage. They kept me informed and managed to obtain and fit two new wheels and tyres (needed) and check the tracking (foc) and get me on the road by New Years Eve, a Saturday. I was very impressed with service and complimented the service manager. They will also check the tracking foc after 500 miles and did a very reasonable price for a spare steel wheel and tyre plus jack etc. I had not realised that when the foam is put into the tyre as a get home measure, it cannot be used again even if the tyre has plenty of tread left on it. I also noted your comments about manufacturers' getting these "bling" wheels with relatively short life on today's roads at low cost. I think my next car will have smaller wheels and tyres withe gretar sidewallsafter this rather costly incident. Regards Dave
