S and L Motor Vehicle Services, Darlington

My car went into limp mode while I was driving down the motorway and the RAC towed it into S & L. This garage must be really busy because there were cars absolutely everywhere and the phones were constantly ringing, luckily, they managed to find the fault quite quickly. The turbo had gone! They gave me a price and were honest that it would be a few days before they could start working on it. I got a few quotes but they were one of the best so I decided to leave the car with them. A bolt snapped in the DPF so it took longer than expected, which was a nightmare for me but it's just one of those things. I know they got the car done as quickly as they could. And I know I'll always take my car back to them. I've always hated going to the garage, I never know what they're talking about it's always cost me an arm and a leg. But they explained things to me so I sort of understood, they were always friendly and polite, and it was nowhere near as expensive as I was quoted in other places. My normal garage would have charged almost double!

My car cut out less than a mile from this garage I managed to limp it to SL Motor Vehicle Services. I had already established by briefly inspecting it myself that there was no fuel to the engine from the tank myself we just needed to find out why. They looked at it a week later after saying they were busy. After plugging the diagnostic computer in and trying to prime the engine by hand they agreed it looked like a fuel supply issue from the tank. They told me the next job was to drop the fuel tank. I asked them then whether they had time to do this and they said probably next week. The maybe next week reply was repeated week after week. By the 5th week I was getting frustrated not only with the timescale but the shirty replies from the receptionist she even hang up on me. Nearly 5 weeks later I have just had it towed to a different garage because they hadn't done another thing on it. They didn't charge me a penny which was one good thing. They obviously prioritise all MOT and Servicing over all repairs they have big commercial service contracts aswell. Do not use this garage for repair work unless you can do without your car for a few months!

I booked my car in for a service. I was made to feel at ease and nothing was a bother for Steven to explain. I have no idea when it comes to cars. Steven explained every process to me from what he had serviced on my car and when I asked a question it was not a problem to him to explain. I will definitely recommend this garage to all my friends and family. 10/10 to this garage.

Had my car in for mot the vehicle went straight through with a few advisories. When I picked my car up they gave me there opinion of how soon some of the advisories would last most of which they told me would last till the next mot test. The only one I needed to sort quickly was one of my tyres was on 2mm which I got them to do there and then Brilliant service
