Had been phoned to inform me that MOT failure due to illegal number plates and that brakes needed attention which could not be completed that day. Short while later, told that car would be ready as there was a communication hiccup ref brakes. On collection was told that no charge for brake pads replacement due to confusion. MOT Inspector called in to explain new regulations on number plate clarity which apparentlty now a common fault. My original plates although clear and undamaged had grey shading on the Numerals and Letters.
