Went in to sell my car I had bought a year prior, was given a price of £12250 , the salesman said we will contact you on Monday, heard nothing from him so I re visited the dealer exactly a week later only to be given a new price of £11000 , when I reminded him that he had given me a price a week earlier the response was “ well the book price has dropped since then “ !! By £1250 I don’t think so , felt like they were trying to rip me off , blatant lies about the book price, no excuses just shocking customer service

My wife was driving to Newark where P & G are located when the instrument panel warned of a battery failure and as a consequence she drove directly to this garage. Without doing any checks they decided that a new battery was needed. They fitted one and my wife drove away only to find that the same thing happened again so returned to P & G. By this time the mechanics had gone home, but a loan car was provided over the weekend. On the Monday we were informed that a new alternator was required and we reluctantly agreed to go ahead with the repair. Another phone call from them later in the day informed us that the real problem was a tensioning bolt had snapped and as a consequence the alternator drive belt wasn't driving resulting in th flat battery condition. £250 plus for a new bolt which should have been diagnosed in the first place! Not the first time we have had issues with P & G. either.

My 3008 has not been exactly fault free! However through the endeavours of the service department all rectification has been carried out thoroughly and without fault. Probably been in to their service department 10-15 times over last 2 years with countless problems, water pump, oil leaks, engine faults (mainly switched off turbo) all put right.

I'd previously tried another Peugeot main dealer in Nottinghamshire for my 308's previous service. The experience I found to be disappointing with take-it-or-leave-it customer 'care' and a high price paid for a service. I suspect they actually did very little to the car other than take it round the back and leave it there for two hours. Pratt and Gelsthorpe's approach couldn't have been more different. From the initial telephone contact I was dealt with courteously and professionally and actually felt my business was wanted rather than a general inconvenience. They also offered a Saturday morning service option, unlike the previous dealer. On arrival I was again greeted in a pleasant and professional manner by the staff there. The premises were extremely well-maintained with great facilities for customer who had to wait for their car like myself. Any additional work was properly explained to me in detail and my approval to go ahead sought before it was carried out. My car was returned to me having been cleaned and with unused sundries type materials left in the vehicle for me - something I'd never experienced before. I also felt what I was charged was both reasonable and fair for a major 36,000 service. On this first experience of this long-established dealer, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would strongly recommend them to a Peugeot owner wanting to maintain a main-dealer service record, but wanting both value and courtesy on top of that.
