viewed citroen c3 ' test drove and mentioned brakes snatching and scraping. told that vehicle would go through workshop serviced mot and checked over.on checking the oil when arrived home oil in sump black sludge but service light had been reset. brakes started to make terrible noises. took in to perrys who said that the problem was a faulty abs switch. rang me to say that pads were down to 2mm and discs had 3mm wear grooves. when i said that they had just serviced the vehicle they said that the wear was due to my driving.(we had the vehicle 2 weeks when this problem started) they wanted over £250 to replace pads and discs. i did them myself for £45 . the noise was the pad backing plates catching on the 3mm lip on the worn discs.putting a vehicle out in this condition is not acceptable in my opinion.
