I have been taking my Land Rover Discovery Sport to Malling Garage for over 2 years now. This car has been trouble and main dealer prices are hefty. As I live near Malling garage, I decided to try them out to reduce costs and they excell at service and workmanship every time. I took the car in once for a fault and when they called me a few hours later they said it was absolutely fine and no charge. I have never once felt ripped off or taken for a ride. Richard is always pleasant at the front desk and cannot do enough to help. !00% recommend.

after using many other garages in and around Maidstone i have finally found one that goes that extra mile in explaining very clearly what work is required and what can be taken care of at a later stage. I Highly recommend this garage to any one looking for Honesty and good quality workmanship from start to finish. Looks like to me the previous review is some one very confused and probably writing about the wrong garage?

I advise anyone considering using this garage to reconsider immediately, there are MANY better options inside the Maidstone area. The owner Nigel is rude and condescending, opting for technical terms and the aid of Ross Wiki to back up his points in the hope to pull wool over your eyes. To give background my car was recovered and taken to Malling Repair Service after a fault with the power steering, where it was going be diagnosed and ultimately fixed. The only issue is, I think pound signs were seen as I was obviously desperate to get my car back and resume normal life (as car is used daily for commute etc). This is where the story begins... Initially a fault was found and fixed, however from there this wasn't enough for the garage as they proceeded to call me and let me know that there was further repairs required, this was after I was told the car was fine and ready for collection from one of Nigel's colleagues, strange no? Even from here, a further "software upgrade" was required at an additional cost of time and money, which at this point was too late for me to refuse. I raised my issues with Nigel, stating that if these additional parts of work were required why was I not made aware of them before it was started? I assume as a professional garage that things like this should be immediately obvious, and the warnings passed onto the customer. Nonetheless Nigel was rude over the phone and never gave a straight answer that could "incriminate" him if this was taken further. After seeking advice from someone working as a VW engineer for 20+ years i was made aware that it was a classic scam with steering faults, opting to replace everything in and around it rather than just the problem itself (which was a simple wiring loom issue), such negligence ended up costing me over £1000 rather than the small amount I was advised it should have cost. I truly advise anyone considering this garage to go elsewhere, never have I felt more of a victim than a customer when paying money for a service.

"A blatant rip-off!"

I booked the car, a Peugeot 407 2.0 HDi x-line, for a full service and specifically mentioned the side lights and a tail light needed replacement and also asked for any other failed lights to be replaced. I mentioned that there was a problem with the power steering and asked for that to be looked at when I dropped the car off at 08:30. The garage had not phoned back at gone 12:00 so I rang them and was told the service was complete, but it had failed the MOT and that the power steering and steering arms would need repair at a cost of £1200. The service cost was £307.84 incl. VAT. The service work invoice showed 4 filters changed and an oil change. The failed light bulbs were not changed, nor was the discovered o/s window wash fault rectified, nor the rear number plate bulbs replaced. There was no mention of coolant top-up or replacement. I feel I was grossly over-charged and the explanation given for not changing the failed bulbs was that the full service did not cover that. Although the car failed the MOT because of the power steering fault, also cited were the failed lights which could have been replaced during the service. Also to be told that there would be an extra charge for fitting the failed lights was to add insult to injury, plus the final smirk on the manager, Ian Hind's face when he "apologised" for my dissatisfaction confirmed that I won't be visiting this garage again. I have had work done before and been satisfied, but never again!

I had been trying for two years to get a fault fixed on my car at dealers from whence I purchased it to no avail. On a recommendation of a friend I took it to Malling repairs, they diagnosed the fault just by my describing it to them. Parts were ordered and twoo days later my car drove like new. Excellent service by very experienced mechanics who go that extra little bit to make sure all is done to exacting specifications.

I book by car (Land Rover Discovery) in for an annual service and MOT. They gave me clear details of what could be covered by an "annual services", and a set of prices that seemed quite reasonable. The work was done, and the MOT gained, and there was no pressure to have any additional work done. A short while later, the battery failed while the car was on the drive. The came out, looked at the problem, then went away to get a battery and fit it. When I asked about payment, the mechanic said "drop into the office next week". They didn't charge me for being called out, they didn't suggest that I needed to get the car towed to the garage, and they trusted me to pay the bill. I will be using them again.
