took my car for some basic jobs, light not working in the boot, fridge not working, small oil leak, fit new wheel nuts, fit forward facing camera, look at brake pipes. This was booked in 3 weeks before i could take my car in. I live 20 miles away and asked for the courtesy car. On arrival we was greeted by a lady that told us we were booked in for fridge not working and light in boot plus a check up! I said what about the other jobs? Erm what are those, and went through the list. At 3pm I received a telphone call. Sorry Mr Young we cant fir your cameras ( something which Halfords do everyday ) I was told thats the least of my problems ! We was quoted over £5k to complete works but was told the bulb in the boot was replaced. I said i would bring there car back tomorrow as it was now rush hour. She was very upset and wanted it back. The courtesy car fuel light came on within 5 miles then later that day the warning light came on for low coolant ( I was told to just top it up ) I fuelled the car for them to half and then topped up the coolant good job i didnt put the water in the oil filler! Returned the car for 08.30 the next day to be charged over £80 just for looking at my car. I have now sold my car for £3500 to anycar type place because of there findings. I really hope i don't see or discover they were wrong. The boot light never worked that they said they fixed and now the upper tail access light no longer works. Would I recommend them? NO.

Awful customer service from this garage, it used to be a well run garage with good customer service but after my experiences over the last 11 months I wont go there again. Sorry for the very long review but this has been going on for a year now! I took my car there for a new drivers door lock to be fitted in August 2019. Bearing in mind that I always keep my car very clean, both inside and out, when I went to pick it up there were muddy boot prints all over the drivers mat, carpet and door sill. After initially complaining I was offered a wash and a hoover next time it was in for some work. Not good enough I felt. After eventually getting a reply from the manager/owner they offered me a full showroom valet as a gesture of goodwill. Great I thought, good customer service. I wish I'd never bothered to be honest. I was given a courtesy car for the day that then broke down on me at 7am on the A34. Could this get any better? The supposedly showroom valet was done, and I took my car home. When I opened my boot and proceeded to check the car over properly externally, I was yet again disappointed. The boot not opened to clean the bumper, polish spilled on my boot liner and not cleaned up, none of the black trim was cleaned properly, and the story goes on. At the time I also had a warning light showing up sometimes on the dash. I asked them to check this. I was told it probably the battery and I'd need a new one. When I said that they had put it on less than 18 months ago, it was checked again for me to be now told it's the alternator and would cost over £600 for a non genuine one. Luckily I said I'll think about it. I went and got a second and third opinion. Both garages tested the alternator and both said it was fine. Their advice was to get an auto electrician to take a look at it, which I did. With in 5 mins he had diagnosed the problem as the secondary battery, and asked me if anyone had mentioned this?! No they hadn't so at the cost of replacing the secondary battery at £90 the problem was cured. Meanwhile as yet another gesture of goodwill for the poor valeting service LRC said that they would respray my wheels at cost price. Yet again the car goes into LRC and they have it for almost a week, and requested I pay cash for the work. 6 months later the paint on the wheels is flaking off all over the place. I contacted Alex again and if the wheels had any kind of warranty, his reply was "No because we didn't charge for the job and anyway the company we used has gone out of business!!" Annoyed is an understatement of how I feel at the service LRC have offered, or rather not offered over this last year. Just a word of warning to everyone. Good luck if you're taking your car there!

I am writing this feeling I have been misadvised of the problems with, what was, my 54 plate discovery 3. Having taken it for its MOT I was called and told that they had abandoned the MOT as it would not pass without considerable work being carried out, to cost in excess of £5k and it would take over a month to carry out. As this amount of money and time was unexpected, I went to the office to discuss further. At this point I was told the vehicle was a danger to be driving on the roads, the amount of work was not worth trying to correct, that they didn't really want to undertake such a massive upheaval and perhaps it would be time to scrap the vehicle. Having decided previously that LRC were a reputatable company with reasonably good reviews, I took their word that it was as stated, considering I had been having problems with the handbrake release and another intermittent issue. It was then mentioned that a member of staff was looking to purchase such a vehicle to be SORN and used entirely off road for his hobby. Great I thought, quickly it was then agreed that I would sell it for £1200, I was advised this was a reasonable price considering its current situation. Now three weeks later I see it driving about on the roads about the area, out of interest I check to see the MOT was promptly passed with only advisorys. Angry is not the word. I happily admit that it is possibly my fault for not getting a second opinion from another company, potentially nor the buyer. You put your trust in these places to loose your vehicle?!

From first contact right the way through eventual PX and purchase I felt extremely confident that every member of staff that I encountered (particularly salesman Roger Burchell, MD Mark Gibbins, Office manager Carol and Service Manager Alex Gibbins) were dedicated to providing me with a fair and equitable experience. The car was exactly as required, they fit two new tyres in order to give me four identical Pirelli's, a Land Rover factory Westfalia towbar and dedicated electrics and sorted out a split turbo hose a week after purchase whilst I waited free of charge. In fact I'm so delighted with them that I'm taking the car back in later this week to have the underside cleaned, prepared and Waxoyled. If I sound enthusiastic about them that's because it's extremely rare these days to find such a hard working, fair and professional team like this and they deserve all the success that they are bound to get.
