"Initially unhappy with the Approach to Car Sales but have improved"

I have collected a used car from this Dealer, on viewing (26th March 2023) i walked around the car and highlighted key Marks on doors and a particularly rough line of paint near the top of the passenger side front door. I was viewing the car with Jack Stubbs (Sales Manager) and i asked before paying a deposit would these marks and issues be rectified and he replied " yes Our smart Repair technician will attend to them Thursday 30th March) On arrival on 31st March i looked around the car and it had been washed and waxed but none of the advised repairs had been attended to and there was now a Dent in the rear Driver side door which i hadn't noticed before but was right next to a mark which i had noticed before on the drivers Door. He tried to tell me their usual smart repair guy had been called away and that another individual had infact looked at the car. He also tried to excuse missing certain repairs due to it raining but i replied " has he not got a gazebo? could he not check it in your workshop? " i had to get them to write me a letter confirming that they will repair these issues and supply me a courtesy car whilst the repairs are carried out. We will have to wait and see how this issue progresses but as soon as i awoke this morning i have videoed The car highlighted all the defects which i had originally noted and was assured by Jack That they would be repaired as originally agreed. We have had to involve Skoda Uk. UPDATE 7/7/23 The paint defects have now all been corrected, yes slow but we got there, they also fixed a door solenoid which was intermittently failing. We have today returned to the dealers as we had a puncture and the locking wheel nut was missing and also we should have had a boot liner installed when we collected the car. Jack promptly apologised immediately replaced the missing locking wheel nut and also the missing boot liner and fixed the puncture free of charge. This is dealer service i would expect and have had from Ford dealers in the past.

I bought a car from Listers Coventry with damage that the dealer tried to pass off as something I had done despite me reporting it within less than an hour of ownership and having photographs from two weeks before collecting proving I wasn’t lying. Mis sold a warranty as a Skoda warranty which then turns out to be a Listers own warranty- restricting cover and accessible repair agents. Terrible communication and rather abrupt dealings at times. Absolutely no acceptance of them being in the wrong. Tom Cox the brand director has swerved my complaint and passed it to Paul Fox the Retailer Principal who was largely to blame for the need to complain. The car broke down before completing 300 miles and it took three weeks to sort the damage that was already there. If the communication was there and a touch of honesty from them, I wouldn’t even be writing this. As it is I have spent £20k and come away feeling like a second rate citizen that owes Listers for ‘looking after me’ rather than dealing with their wrongs!! I would never ever deal with them again. Be warned.

Skoda dealer ( Listers Coventry ) caused a torsion fracture of rear hydraulic pipe by not supporting the calliper whilst replacing the discs & pads....resulting in total hydraulic brake failure 3 days later ... Garage admitted liability as no pressure test was done following the work. (pressure test = foot held on brake whilst manual / visual check of hose/ pipes carried out ) Skoda Uk Technical insist that a pressure test is not required and that a road test is sufficient. Clearly not in this case.
