Lion Garage, Leicester

Paid £900 for a part that never fixed the problem at Loughborough, went back and then for the third time asked for a refund. Declined and put in a Section 75. The Director at the Leicester branch has no problem with managers at other branches operating with fraudulent repairs but seems aghast when a customer asks for their money back for a car that continues to still have the same problem 6 months later. Avoid all branches.

Took my car Lion as they are much better than going to main dealer and obviously cheaper! Had my car for servicing and a fault issue but it was all sorted quickly enough. My family have been using Loin Garage for over 15 years now and wouldn’t use any other VW Specialist. Ignore these recent reviews someone clearly has a problem with the garage & is using family and friends to affect their ratings... shameful!

Be careful you pay for nothing

He did not know what he was doing and estimated the cost at £1200, I went to another place and was sorted and cost £96

On the face of it, they appeared to do a decent job regarding the service but on dropping off the car it had a peculiar and vile smell coming from the air duct. The issue was that on reporting it back to the garage and arranging a time to come in for them to have a look, the manager rang me in an attempt to persuade me the smell was self-manufactured through spilt milk or the like. Problem was that I knew exactly the condition of the car prior to service as I regularly clean it myself and encountered no such smell before The Lion Garage had it. They eventually agreed to have a look at it but when reflecting on the argument made by the manager, I felt they wouldn't be trust worthy enough to go near my car again. Could be one big coincidence (a mouse running into my car as they picked it up, died, and then left a smell), but circumstantial evidence suggests the garage are at fault, and the manager tried to fob me off rather than being concerned and wanting to take a look.

I took my car here to have the clutch master cylinder changed, there was nothing wrong with the car apart from this, I got a phone call from them saying they need to change the brake switch and flush the brake system, on driving my car home the brakes failed and the abs and ecu lights came on, they told me to take the car back so they could look at it. when I got the car home I had an independent check done on the car and it was found that the brake fluid had not been changed and the brake lights were not working. When I asked the garage why this had not been done they told me that they didn't want to do a full brake fluid change in case it upset the braking system, I was charged for the job and now they do not want to get involved anymore To sum up be very careful with this company as they will try to bull shit you with technical terms so take someone with you who knows about cars

Excellent service by knowledgable staff. I run three VWs and will be using Lion Garage from now on!! I'm so happy to have found them!!

I have used this garage for the past 6 years. I always get great service from all of the staff and can call Martin for advice without feeling a nuisance. In my opinion Martin and the team go above and beyond the call of duty and have often squeezed me in at busy periods when needed. I will not take my car to anyone else as i feel confident that a good job is always done. My car is in tip top condition, thanks to all at Lion Garage.

I have used this independent VAG garage for over twenty years. They are specialists in vw / audi cars but can service and repair other makes. The only two hassles are at times they are reticent to do work I think is needed (new clutch) when they consider it unnecessary and Martin, the proprietor will spend ages justifying his bill – when I trust him anyway and just want to pay and go.
