After years of loyal custom, I’m compelled to share one of the most disappointing and costly experiences I’ve ever had with a garage. Lakeside Garage Wraysbury fitted two tyres to my vehicle, assuring me it was safe to drive. Hours later, I returned from LGW with a flat caused by a faulty valve, an issue they failed to mention or address. The AA confirmed the tyre was unroadworthy, directly contradicting Lakeside’s assessment. What followed was a cascade of damage: brake discs and pads compromised, a £750 repair bill, and a technician whose incompetence was so severe he was later dismissed. Lakeside admitted this in writing, yet refused to offer any compensation for the damage caused under their watch. Their response? A mix of deflection (“I’ve never heard of this before”), contradiction (“how can one tyre be wrong if they’re the same?”), and a vague invitation to “pop in” for a chat—weeks after the damage was done and documented. I provided a full report from Kwik Fit, whose engineer was shocked I’d been allowed to leave Lakeside with the tyre in that condition. Still, no accountability. No reimbursement. No resolution. This isn’t just about poor workmanship, it’s about a complete failure of duty of care, customer service, and professional integrity. Even a nominal gesture would have gone a long way. Instead, I’ve had to escalate the matter to Trading Standards. If you value safety, transparency, and basic competence, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

I went to Lakeside garage to get my car performance tune by Jay. He explain everything to me before he actually went ahead with the tuning, he is very professional, and trust worthy and honest i would recommend anyone to go Lakeside garages, I will definitely be going there again.

Customers know all the mechanics and owner by name, advice freely given on what does NOT need doing as well as suggesting other essentials such as brake fluid and filter changes. Advisable to book as it's very popular in more than the locality. I have both of the cars (Ford & BMW) cared for here.Will fit tyres brakes etc at wholesale prices not main dealer expenses. Will collect and deliver if staff available. Open Monday to Friday. Updating my 2010 review, I have used Lakeside (Bizee Cars) several times a year up to now, August 2013, and my opinions are unchanged. They have taken care of both Ford Focus C-Max and BMW 5 series without criticism from me for the last four years. They still give advice on what is needed to be done, items which should be monitored in the short term and those procedures which are unnecessary bearing in mind mileage covered.

Just been to Lakeside for an MOT. It is a small outfit with personable staff. The guys were friendly and helpful on the phone and squeezed me in on short notice (even while pretty busy). I could see they were dealing well with other customers too. It needs a sharp eye the first time you go there as it is down a drive off the main road. Look out for the A-board on the pavement by the side of the road just inside the 20mph limit on the lake side(!). Good place from what I've seen.
