Grantham MoT and Service Centre, Grantham

Have used these guy for good few years, sadly now they have downsized it seems their quality of work has also. Having had a mot I'm told it's failed due to front tyres and a track rod end, tyres we know about so wasn't a surprise. They called to give me a price of £240.74 all in, so fine I said go ahead. After picking the van up as soon as we used it for motorway driving we had a very bad shaking at 65mph, called the garage to be told I need to get the tracking done. Clearly I'm shocked as this should of been done when the track rod end was fitted, I'm told they didn't do it as they don't have the equipment. So having taken to get the tracking done it still has violent shaking, back to the garage to have the new tyres balanced they didn't do properly the first time. So on calling 4 other garages all are the same price or as much as £20 cheaper that these guy but they include the tracking, so overall £52 cheaper! Not to mention the half day pay I've lost taking it for tracking! Plus they didn't even tell me they hadn't done the tracking or it would need doing. They are basically still charging the same amount as when they used to do tracking proir downsizing, not telling you its not done so you assume it has, so the tyres wear out quicker and you go back sooner for more tyres! Absolutely con merchants! Very poor

Needed to find a local garage that could fit me in for a same day MOT. I was nervous because I had never used this garage and was expecting upselling and overcharging as some "well known" garages do. To my surprise the whole thing ran very smoothly. Polite, efficient staff, appointments running on time, no hidden costs or upselling. Pleasant waiting area with drinks and customer toilets. I would definitely recommend.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS Took car in with engine management light on , after charging me for a new turbo I late found out a new turbo was not fitted and engine management light continued to come on. I took the car back over 4 times when you then say to yourself, when is enough enough, it was quite clear they could not only do the job, not having a new part fitted when you had paid for one was beyond belief. I contacted them and asked for a refund and of course they refused . I took it to the small claims court and had the judgement in my favour however they still refused to refund me and stated that Melton MOT centre Ltd was no longer trading but the signs are still up and staff are still working as business as usual. They are just using the umbrella of the Parent company- Grantham MOT to avoid paying. So if you want to take your car here and deal with these cowboys, be prepared for a headache and over the top charges when you do.

I was let down previously bya Garage I trusted when I realised they were not only Over charging me but adding parts and labour to Jobs that didnt need doing! I was unsure where to go as I had lost my faith in Garages, I was recommended by a friend to try Grantham Mot centre, nervously I called and spoke with Cheryl on reception who booked me in at date and time that was convenient for me. The facilities were top notch, I was welcomed warmly by Cheryl on reception and offered a hot drink while I waited. Ian was the mechanic / Mot tester who carried out my MOT he was very knowledgable and he spent a considerable time with me explaining the process and the vehicle checks they perform. The service I received here was Warm, friendly, efficent and above all others. Many thanks to all the staff Margaret
