EE Holloway Car Repairs, Byfleet

We went to this garage rather than going through a painful insurance route given that the 3rd party was happy to pay for a small amount of front-end damage they'd caused. The bill came to £550. - EE Holloway said that they would pick up the car on the Monday and keep it for 2 days. In the end they didn't turn up on the Monday and didn't call either - When we called them at the end of the day they said that they would pick up the car after the school run the next day - but turned up without notice just at the time we were leaving for school - and leaving us without the car to drop kids off - On Thursday evening they called us to say they couldn't get hold of the car parts for a week and needed to keep it over the weekend. That may be correct but it sounds strange for a standard part - a headlight and fog light for a Fiat 500 which I found available online (at the same supplier they said they were using) ready for same day delivery that day. - When we came to pick up the courtesy car they said that they WERE GOING TO CHARGE for it - and for 2 days! We were snookered because we HAD to have the car for the Saturday and they'd given us no notice to do anything different. When I complained they said they'd only charge for 1.5 days. - But when I picked up of the car they said that they've changed their minds, and decided to charge for 2 days. - Throughout this process I said that I wanted to speak with the MD but, even after 3 days of trying, he wouldn't come to the phone. I was told that he was too busy getting new business! Presumably too busy trying to get new customers to worry about helping an actual one... To me this epitomises the 'bad old days' of pork-pie hat car companies. Would you recommend this company to your mum....? Er ...!

I've used Les Holloway for many years for various repairs. Reasonably priced, insurance approved (if you're going that route). Great quality painting. A look round his workshop reveals the wide range of repairs & restoration he does from old classics to current model insurance work. Loan car available too. I'd highly recommend him.
