This garage does all my car services (I have an 08 Petrol Vauxhall Vectra). Every time I visit the car service men Nigel and Martin are consistently able to fix the problem I have, quickly, and at really low cost. A pigeon flew into my offsite fog light last month and the shock broke both the bulb and the mounting bracket of the fog light assembly. A new fog light assembly varied in cost between about £54 and £75, but Nigel repaired the bracket himself, so I paid for the new bulb, plus his time in repairing the bracket. I think I paid him £15 or so. A Vauxhall main dealer would have charged me getting on for £100, since they charge £75 per hour for labour, and their fitters would simply have fitted a replacement item, which would probably have been the £75 item Just last week my headlamp bulb stopped working which Martin replaced that same day - cost £4.50, but I gave him £10. Now how much would a Vauxhall main dealer charge to replace a new headlamp bulb? £50? More? The only time I get irritated with Nigel and Martin is that they quote such low prices for their work: I am worried that they cannot be covering their overhead, so I keep saying to them. "You must charge higher prices or you'll go out of business, then I'll have to drive over 10 miles to the main Vauxhall dealer in Telford!" Now just how many service repair places give you that sort of concern!!
