It's clear that this business is passionate about delivering a combination of engineering expertise, superior than Main-Dealer Service Centre levels of customer care. This garage is far better value for money than any other I've found in the region, yet with complete honesty and transparency when discussing the best cause of action for my vehicle! I have used Charlwood Automotive on numerous occasions but haven't managed to get round to leaving a duly deserved review. This Independent Volvo Specialist (although I know their expertise also extends to Mini and other makes) has never failed to deliver anything less than absolute confidence inspiring engineering and customer support. I have taken several Volvos of varying ages and technical complexities to Charlwood Automotive. Every time I have used this garage Peter (the Manager/Owner and senior technical expert there and Jen (bookings/enquiries/service manager) along with their trained workshop techs have never failed to keep me informed of the progress of my vehicles, give honest and detailed advice as to what is the best way ahead for my car, as well as my budget. They consistently go out their way to find a solution to any fault I've taken to them. I've had all manner of work carried out here, from highly complex 4x4 drive issues and electronic suspension dramas, timing and engineering work to a simple oil change or basic ABS sensor change. Every time I go there, I am always kept informed by either Jen or Peter of the progress and next stages of diagnostics with a realistic projection of budgets and outcomes. I have even called this garage on a recent trip across France for technical advice when I ran into a problem with my car. Thankfully, after following this advice, I was not ripped off by a French Volvo Main Dealer and upon my return to UK I was booked in the very next day and the issue rectified within 24hrs. Outstanding service from this trustworthy Independent. Few businesses have such conscientiousness and attention to detail and it's practically impossible to find a garage that actually cares about getting diagnostics and engineering work spot on to such standards as these guys always do. I will never take my Volvos anywhere else.

I took my Volvo v60 d4 back to a main dealer for a recall. Following this it needed £700 of repairs to the throttle inlet in the manifold. I called charlwood to get the work done with them as they have been great in my past experience. They felt the fault should be covered by volvo and arrang for the work done for free by a different dealer. And leant me a car for over a week while it was being fixed. They made no money helping me but I will be back for all servicing in future and cannot recommend them enough. Experts with massive integrity

After some discussion on the phone, I took my wife’s car to have it repaired. The service was outstanding from start to finish! The unit had to be reconditioned and I was given a (fantastic) loan car for the duration. I would highly recommend using Charlwood for your Volvo as their prices are reasonable and their attitude pragmatic. Thanks very much for your help Peter, Danny and the technicians!

I used this garage for 6 years when I had a Volvo. Service was always excellent and reasonably priced. As the car got older they would replace worn parts with second hand parts if they were available (at my request) so a rear suspension replacement cost £50 instead of £250 (for the part and you need to do both at the same time) On a 15 year old car that you still want to look after, but in all probability isn't going to last another 15 years, this kind of service is invaluable. I have now purchased another Volvo (after a two year hiatus) and will be returning here for all my servicing and repair needs. Highly recommended

I owned a Volvo V40 T4 auto for 10 years from new and used CR Volvo for MOT & servicing for the last 4 years of ownership. They are helpful and approachable, and offer good value for money. I used to make an 80 mile round trip to get my car serviced by them which is a testament to how satisfied I was using their services.
