Took them the car for a warranty issue, advised of investigation fee which was fair enough, catalogue of incompetence, ambivalence and poor advice resulted in me being charged well over £500 to fit parts costing £35. The utterly galling thing is I could've fixed it myself but thought, it's a mechanical failure of a non-sacrificial part, take it in for warranty.

We purchased a car with Arnold Clark. Over the next 3 months we were never away, with fault after fault that they apparently hadn't noticed. Eventually we argued and got our money back, which took weeks and many meeting where they tried to convince us to keep the car or take an alternative, which they assured is had no faults... like the last one. After losing my cool, we got our money back and went somewhere else. Interestingly, the car never went back on the road. Either because it was too broken to fix or because Arnold Clark don't know how. Fast forward a year and we have a citreon. The breaks went, going spongey and not working intermittently. Our garage replaced a few parts and concluded the ABS was faulty and it would HAVE to go to Arnold Clark. Back we go. Firstly, the person taking the details didn't actually bother to listen to anything we said and just wrote "breaks didn't work, once". We explained the actual issue and they investigated. The next day we were told it would need 1200 quid worth of "critical repairs" (that had apparently manifested since our MOT a couple of months back. We questioned the charges and found that the only thing relating to the breaks was a £8.95 part that they wanted £270 to fit. With No other option, we paid and left, aiming to take it to a trustworthy garage to check everything over again (3 days after they had just done so with no issues). Unfortunately we never made it to that garage, as THE BREAKS HAD NOT BEEN FIXED. So, Arnold Clark will bleed you for every penny you have, for jobs that don't need done, not bother fixing the issues you reported and providing ypu with cars they know nothing about. Their customer service is a disgrace, their car knowledge is laughable and their cars are an absolute shambles. Avoid this company like covid-19. They know nothing about cars and are experts at rinsing you of cash, they especially like to add on 0's if you're a woman, which we found out when prices changed in the presence of a man.
