Why is there no official Nissan recall on a widespread issue of broken air con?
I have two Nissan Qashqai, both under 10000 miles, just out of warranty and both with broken air con. Nissan is graciously offering 75 per cent contribution towards the parts. But I'm still left with a £300 plus bill for each car. According to the dealer they are doing loads of them. Why no official recall?
Extremely common problems with Nissan, Mazda and, to a lesser extent, Peugeot due to complying with an EC Directive to use R1234yf refrigerant instead of R134a. In a system designed for R134a, R1234YF is prone to leaking and damaging the condensers and compressors. It is also highly flammable and costs five times as much.
