What's wrong with the engine of my BMW 1 Series 1.4?
I own a BMW 118i 1.4 auto. Issue is, there is a noticeable change in engine noise and slight vibration in steering wheel between 1800 and 2000rpm. Even more so when under load, feels like it's in the wrong gear. No issues when outside these parameters. Has been like it since new, dealer and BMW notified but still waiting for answers. Your thoughts please.
There is an admitted crankshaft problem with this engine. Get it into the BMW dealer. He may replace the bearings. He may even replace the engine.
