Is there a known issue with the Ford servicing schedule of cam belts?

My 2013 Ford Fiesta 125 Ecoboost has a failed cambelt. Ford recommend changing at 150,000 miles, but mine failed at 108,000 and it has a full service history from new. I've been told by Ford that it's only a recommendation and should be done earlier so they wont help with a goodwill payment. Is there a known problem with the schedule for changing these?
