Should I be charged a diagnostic fee for a vehicle under warranty?
My 2014 Nissan Note Tekna has developed a nasty suspension creaking sound. I understand from the Note drivers forum that this is an issue with 2014 Notes - front anti roll bar bushes are a known problem and a redesigned part is available.
Yesterday I contacted my local Nissan dealer to book the car in. I was shocked to be told that if they find no problem (I have videos of the noises) I will be charged £120 for the diagnostic check.
Tell the garage, no. Your car is under warranty with an obvious fault and you want it fixed under warranty. Get in touch with Nissan Customer Care directly. If this is the garage you bought the car from, tell them that if they don't fix it you will take the car elsewhere, get it fixed, then sue then in Small Claims for the cost.
