Is super unleaded worth the extra?
I have just bought a used Ford Focus (2015 model) with the petrol EcoBoost engine. The dealership said they recommend using super unleaded. Is there a reason for this or is it just sales talk?
Using super (preferably 99 Ron Super) you get more torque at low rpm and this allows you to change up earlier with a consequent benefit in economy. The extra additives also help keep the engine's fuel system cleaner. I have used nothing else for the past 20 years and consequently have not suffered any fuel system problems during that time.
