Citroen C4 Picasso - should I service it before selling?
My 2007 Citroen C4 Picasso 2.0 HDI Auto is currently at 95K miles. We haven't had it serviced since 68k miles and are thinking of part exchanging it rather than spending anything on it.
Question is, would you recommend servicing and keeping this vehicle or part ex before the service is due? Also does this vehicle have DPF issues? What interval should it be changed?
You are asking a question of someone who ceaselessly recommends oil and filter changes every 10,000 miles or every 12 months whichever comes first, so the fact that your vehicle is still running at all is pure luck. The timing belt, tensioner, waterpump could fail at any time. The DPF employs an Eolys system, the fluid for which which can need replenishing at any time from around 40,000 miles so you have done extremely well with that.
Your problem now is finding a dealer who will take the car in p/x at all, never mind give you a good price for it. If you can p/x it, I suspect that it will go to auction and be passed into the low end of the trade.
