Ford C-Max suffering from turbo spindle play
I was servicing my Ford C-Mas 1.6 diesel the other day and noticed the end of the turbo spindle has about 1mm of play. The car has done 75,000 miles and has been serviced with OEM parts all its life and is boosting properly. Is this OK or a sign of impending failure?
It's bound to be suffering some wear. But vital to replace the oil feed pipe to the turbo bearing. These get choked with carbon reducing oil flow to the bearing thereby hastening the demise of the turbo.
