Is there a method for testing xenon headlamp aim?
I am ordering a new BMW M235i convertible. It is fitted as standard with xenon headlamps. As the car will be used extensively abroad, I need to ensure the headlamps will not dazzle other drivers when driving on the right at night.
My local BMW dealer thinks the beam uses flat-beam technology to avoid dazzling when driving abroad so there should be no problem, but he has been unable to obtain final confirmation of this from BMW. How can I test the lights?
Park the car facing a wall or a garage door about 50 feet away. Switch the headlights to full beam, then to dip. If the dipped beam drops down you're okay. If it shines to the left, you aren't.
