Will the timing belt need changing on my Citroen at four years / 70,000 miles?
Is the 75,000-mile/10-year timing belt change interval specified by Citroen under 'normal' operating conditions reasonable? Does this engine, like some Fords, have a good reputation for belt reliability? My car will be four years and 70,000 miles old at the end of August 2010. I know you advise changing the tensioner - is this more of an age-related concern?
I'd start thinking about changing the belt and tensioner and smaller pulleys for peace of mind.
