Does the 2012 Skoda Superb have a timing chain or belt?
I am thinking of buying a 2012/62 Skoda Superb. It has the 170PS diesel engine. Please can you tell me if this engine has a timing chain or belt?
It's belt cam. All 4-cylinder VAG diesels are belt cam. The standard instruction seems to be to change the belt, tensioner and waterpump every four years or every 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, at a cost of £400 - £500, depending on the labour rate of the garage.
