Why doesn't my Mercedes-Ben B-Class have a service book?
I recently purchased a Mercedes-Benz 'Approved Used' B180 CDI from a big Mercedes-Benz dealer. On examining the paperwork I found that the service booklet containing the service record was missing. I phoned the dealer to ask him to forward it to me and was informed that service records are now held only on computer at the dealership and that service booklets are no longer issued. Is this practice throughout the Mercedes-Benz dealership organisation or is it a local arrangement?
Mazda and Mercedes-Benz do this, and many fleets do too. But you can obviously ask for a printout of the service record.
