Does my 2005 Ford Mondeo have a dual mass flywheel?
I have a 2005 Mondeo 2.0 diesel with 180,000 on the clock. It has been a great car and the only expense apart from brake pads and discs was a new alternator. I want to keep the car for another two years until retirement, by which time it will have done 240,000 miles. Can you suggest what major replacements I may expect? You often mention a dual mass flywheel - does my car have one?
Yes, it does have a dual mass flywheel. Other owners have had them last as long as 200,000 miles. That's the longest I've ever heard of.
