Should I have the injectors and pump changed in my 75,000-mile-old Ford Mondeo?
I have a 2004 Ford Mondeo Ghia TDCI 130. It has done 75,000 miles. Would it be advisable to have the injectors and associated pump changed soon as I have been informed that they are suspect?
If they are starting to fail, first change the pump and see how you get on. Not the other way round. If the pump fails it will send shards of metal into the injectors and wreck them. I’d better warn you that the cost of changing both pump and injectors is probably greater than the value of the car.
