Oil Change for a rarely used car kept in Spain?

I have a small apartment in southern Spain. Fed up with hire car practices, I have bought a 2007 Peugeot 107 which I leave over there. I only visit 3 or 4 times a year and my annual mileage is very low. On my next visit in April I intend to change the oil. Having always used fully synthetic oil in the UK I am minded to use the same but have read that in warm climates oil with a higher viscosity is more appropriate. Any thoughts please? Also am I right in thinking that you would recommend an annual oil change with part synthetic as opposed to using full synthetic but leaving it in for 2 years?
Yes, annual oil change using semi-synthetic. Condensation contaminating the oil is less of a problem in Southern Spain than in the UK due to the higher ambient temperature, but it was minus 3 in the hills above Barcelona last Tuesday morning.
