Is my Galaxy worth repairing?

Taken car to main dealer after power failure. Indications are that PCM is malfunctioning and replacement needed. Dealer explained that there may be other problems but only new PCM could determine this. Additionally the car needs new front brake discs and pads and major service. Dealer indicating that as PCM may not be only problem, and not worth the expensive outlay to repair. Do you agree?
It's a bit early to condemn an 88k mile 05 Galaxy to scrap on that basis. Get it out of the dealer and to a good independent garage. The ECU can be tested and probably repaired by www.ecutesting.com
