Rational service

I am writing on behalf of my son who owns a 2006 Hyundai Tucson 2.0 GSi petrol. It has reached 20,000 miles and is due for a service. The main dealer is quoting £350 standard charge. He wonders if he can try other, non-Hyundai garages but is concerned about his warranty. Can you confirm what the rules are now about going elsewhere but protecting the warranty?

all the disadvantages of independent servicing. He must have spent over £20k on this vehicle. Why does he begrudge spending £350 on a service without which he will lose the balance of his 5-year CONDITIONAL manufacturer warranty?
