The MoT Files: The first MoT - bottom 10 cars
At the bottom of the table for cars passing their MoT first time there's a definite trend towards French brands and - surprisingly given its reputation - Volkswagen. Rather than being company car 'repmobiles' many of the cars in the bottom 10 are actually family cars and people carriers, which is not what you'd expect.

Volkswagen Passat 76% pass rate
The news doesn't get better for Volkswagen with the Passat, which is the third worst performing car when it comes to passing its first MoT. Shock absorbers and suspension components seem to be more common reason for failure compared to other cars but we still expected better from the German firm.
