Took our car in for a small repair for the windscreen wipers. We’d called up the day before for an appointment but were running an hour late on the day. They still squeezed us in, fixed there and then, and were absolutely lovely about it all! Highly recommend.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Lloyd and the team at Thorobred Cars for the service I received when I brought my Ford Fiesta in for wheel alignment and tracking. I cannot fault the professional and honest service. A courtesy car was also provided for the duration. I would be more than happy to give Thorobred my business in the near future.

Went in for the 4 wheel tracking. They were very nice and explained comprehensively why it shouldn't be done before replacing the lower suspension arm bushings (what was left of them anyway, you could remove rubber pieces from them by hand). We made a different appointment for it and had it done + the tracking at a later date. The pricing was more than fair and I would definitely recommend this garage to anybody in the area.

Lloyd and the guys in the garage did an amazing job. Their diagnostics of my car after a flat battery was quick and truthful. Not only did they fix the cam belt and alternator but sourced a new battery quickly. Thank you so much!

Lloyd changed my locking wheel nuts as I couldn’t find my old key. He did it free of charge and the same day while I waited. Such a friendly local family run business that I would recommend to anyone.

We popped in on a rainy Saturday purely to just have a look at a car we were considering out of many options as potentially our very first car. A surprisingly short time later we were driving her home. This was our first ever car we bought for ourselves and so we were understandably cautious about the whole thing. Thorobred Cars though were completely understanding and reassuringly honest about the process. No nonsense, no hard sell, they let us come to our conclusions with no unwarranted pressure. They made what could have been a very stressful and complicated decision seem easy and obvious within 30 minutes. We cannot deny that a large part of what convinced us to make the purchase was the garage itself, and particularly how lovely Lloyd was - especially considering the added pressure of the Covid-19 somewhat complicating the test drive interaction. That level of personable reassurance and knowing we can return to this local garage should anything go wrong for a fair and honest assessment is more valuable in the long term than any warranty. Could not recommend this garage more, in fact, even though we live a good 20 miles away we still feel in totally safe hands.

Partner phoned Lloyd when her car would not start. Lloyd came out to us and managed to get the car started, provided clear information on how to keep car running in the immediate term and let us know what he would do if the problem returned. As a more general note we have both used Thorobred for a variety of cars over many years and they have always been excellent. Everything that they intend to do or advise should be done is clearly and simply explained in terms of both what is actually being done, the time frame and the cost. They have always fixed any problem no matter how difficult to determine or how much of a faff getting the relevant parts Italy has been, their service is always excellent and we feel that they are always good value for money.

Took my car in to get 4 wheel tracking done, Ben looked over my car while I was there to make sure that it can be done. He also checked other key areas while under the car and explained what he had found. Car went in for the repairs both Lloyd and Clive explained the situation and how they can fix it and what my options are. Exactly the type of thing you need from a garage when your not great with cars. Found everyone very polite and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

On a recommendation I purchased a vehicle through Thorobred Cars. I was not disappointed in the slightest. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful, competent and reliable. I highly recommend them for all things vehicle related. I will spread the word far and wide.

As I explained already the service that I received at the garage was excellent, they help me out in a very difficult situation after my car broke down on the M3 on my way to Cornwall for holidays. My car was brought to the garage on a recovery truck, and they made all the repairs within few hours, ordering parts and was able to continue my journey on the same day. Great service!

We bought our car from Thorobred in the summer. We were incredibly impressed with the customer service at the time and so, when we received a letter from them to remind us our MOT was due ,we booked in with them rather than go to our usual MOT garage. Once again we received excellent customer service. They are very helpful and friendly and we will be continuing to book our car in with them!

This is our 3rd car purchase from Thorobred cars, Lloyd is extremely helpful no hard sale and very knowledgeable. Smooth transactions and happy to help with any issues. Would definitely recommend this garage as you can be reassured that they will look after you .

My Mercedes went in for a ‘B’ service which is not cheap. I didn’t ask for an estimate but the final bill was about half of the Mercedes recommended cost. This was because at Thorobred the mechanics do all the work needed but only charge for the time it takes; not the time that Mercedes recommend it should take. All the little things I knew about but had not mentioned had been noticed, and I was particularly impressed that a faulty rear number plate light had been replaced at no charge. Anyone with a Mercedes will know that this entails the removal of all the boot lining to even access the bulb! This is a family firm with pride in their garage and pride in the work they carry out for their customers. Highly recommended.

I saw a car for sale on auto trader, it hadn't arrived yet, so on the Monday I rang the number and spoke to a very friendly man telling me that he was still waiting for the car. I told him I was very interested and he said he would tell me as soon as its in and if I am still interested he will let me be the first to see it! The next day I got the call to say it was in and they were preparing the car. Lloyd sent me some pictures on the Friday and I saw the car first thing on the Saturday. I was very happy the car was stored inside the workshop as promised and looked beautiful. Lloyd showed me around the car, explained about all the paperwork and checks the car had. He pointed out anything on the car and then let me and my partner look round at our own pace, which was great! From the moment we walked into the garage the welcome was warm and very friendly. Nothing was too big for Lloyd, the car came with a new service, new MOT and various others work done on it, which is great to know when buying a new car! Collection of the car was arranged for an out of hours time due to my work commitments etc. Lloyd is an RAC registered garage and i would have faith to take the car back to him if I did have any problems. Went to Thorobred Cars to have a rainwater leak investigated on the passenger side with little knowledge of where it came from other than it being around the door area, they booked me in swiftly over the phone and after explaining the problem they were able to resolve the issue quickly by refitting the inside panel and replacing a window seal. Throughout the process they were very friendly and understanding of the problem, and worked with utmost professionalism, showing me the problem item and explaining the repair process. Definitely recommend their services!

I am a single, older, lady who needed a new car who felt in good hands in this small family run garage. I will be (and have already, recomended this garahe to any-one who wants a small, nearly new, low millage car. I was extremley happy with the service I recieved.

It is great to find a friendly, trustworthy, local garage. Although they are very conveniently local to where I live, I would recommend them to anyone, even if they have to travel a fair distance to get there! A rare gem. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been taking my car to Thorobred Cars for more than 10 years and can't rate them highly enough. They are totally honest with their advice and always explain clearly what repair may be required and give options. As a female going to a garage can be intimidating but Clive and Lloyd explain things clearly. If a part has been changed they will show the damaged part and show the reason the change was needed. I trust them to do the best job for my car and for me. Customer service is first on their list and they are reasonably priced too. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We recently visited this garage to purchase a Citroen C-Crosser. From start to finish the service offered by Colin and his son Lloyd was exceptional. I bought a SEAT from them earlier this month. You would think i was buying a RR. They are meticulous with their records and vehicles sold, i got a number of valuable coverage thrown in too. They are not strictly a car sales place, normally their vehicles come from customers who cars they have serviced and therefore know a lot of history about the vehicle. There sense of service is impressive, no detail is too small to log and they are able to keep your car in seriously top condition for high resale. After one encounter, I see no reason why I should not let them baby my car up to resale. We all have horror stories about mechanics and they are aware of that. If nothing else, its really worth chatting with them.

This is the first time I've ever been to a garage. Having only passed my test a few months ago. I took my car in because it was making a creaking noise everytime I turned a corner. Being a young woman I was nervous to take it in as I've often heard horror stories of garages ripping people off. I did not find this the case at Thorobred. They couldn't have been any more helpful. Before carrying out any work on my car they compiled a two page list of important things wrong with it and less pressing things. When I came to collect the car everything was explained to me before I decided which work to get carried out. They ensured that I was sure what I was taking on before I agreed to any work being carried out and made sure I 'slept on it'. I decided to get the most important things done today and Ive just collected it. Again everything was explained to me. My car feels amazing in comparison. They are fantastic! So friendly and even made sure I got to and from work. I can't praise them enough. So if you're looking for somewhere with an award winning service a smile and a calming temperament, don't hesistate to go to Thorobred!

As novice motorist, I have to trust my garage to present me with an honest evaluation of repair work that needs to be done. I bought my alfa romeo car from this car in 2011 for a fair price as valued by parkers. On collection of the car I was surprised and delighted to be told that the cambelt change, had been changed a no extra cost. Subquently I have used them as my garage of choice, for servicing, MOT and repairs. I have recommended them to others you have been happy with their service and would be using them to purchase my next car.

My mother and I have both had our cars serviced and repaired at Thorobred cars in the last few months. Lloyd and his dad always bend over backwards to give the best service possible. They are friendly and highly skilled, and they have helped us out with our vehicles on several occasions. No job is too big or too small for them. They have always put us at ease and we will continue to use their garage for as long as we have cars on the road! Can't thank them enough for all of their help.

This is a great family run garage - efficient and well organised - you get great coffee too. I have a fairly old car and the headlight covers were so scratched and yellowed that driving at night was becoming dangerous. Thorobred offer a service whereby they polish out all the scratches and make your headlamp covers shine like new again. Fantastic… and is far cheaper than buying new covers. What a bargain - Highly recommend.

A number of years ago I bought my Fiat Multipla from this garage. It was a disgusting colour (orange) but obviously easy to find in a car park and brilliant to drive. Wonderful care and service from staff at the garage. Always sent remembers by letter about servicing and MOT. Always got a hire car when needed Obviously then bought my next car Caliber Dodge from this garage (recommended by them as they said it suited me!!) and absolutely love my car (from a woman who knows nothing about cars but does appreciate a car which is comfortable to drive and comfortable for the people who sit in the back. Same excellent service. Have absolutely no complaints and thoroughly recommend this garage for people who are looking for honesty, care and service. I did tell them I was going to write a rubbish review but was only joking!

I have been a customer at Thorobred Cars for many years now, and recommend them to everyone. I have only ever known prompt and efficient service. All the staff are friendly and helpful and the option of a loan car has meant I have never had to miss a day at work. I have just bought a car from them and am, again, really pleased. I happened to walk past Thorobred Cars after a very disappointing experience with another garage in Ashford on the same day. I walked in about half an hour before they closed and asked for their advice with my Nissan Micra. Lloyd who served me was so helpful and I felt they were very professional unlike the other garage I had visited earlier that day. I waited in the pub next door while they looked at my car and went back to them after about 20 mins. My car was fixed!! it was just a fuse that was causing the problem. The other garage in Ashford couldn't even find out what the problem was although they kept my car almost all day, so it was amazing how quickly Lloyd and his colleagues managed to sort it out. I am so grateful to them and recommend them to everyone. I left their card on the notice board at work as I was impressed with their service, professionalism and friendliness. Thank you so much!!

I have come to Thorobred cars after a very disappointing experience with BMW Cobham. Clive at Thorobred was very accommodating and agreed to take the car in at very short notice. I was able to drop the car off after work (they have a convenient drop-off service) and the work was done very quickly. The whole experience was fantastic and the price tag was a nice surprise at the end - 3 times lower than the quote from BMW! The guys at Thorobred Cars were super friendly, and as a woman (for once!) I was not made to feel uncomfortable or intimidated when picking the car up from the garage. They showed me the broken part and explained what happened. Better yet, they fixed a lose part in the boot free of charge, purely to spare me the hassle later (it could have caused a lot of issues with the folding roof if it came undone at the wrong time!). You could really see the care and attention everyone there had for the cars and the customers - I would highly recommend this family-run garage to anyone! I am in the process of moving to a new house, and although I will no longer be local to Thorobred I will definitely add the few extra miles to my journey and make sure any future work needed on my Z4 will be done there! Great place - left a very happy customer with a huge smile on my face!

Even though I have lived locally to this garage for most of my life it was the first time that I had actually gone there. I will definitely be going back! It is a long-standing family business which shows exceptional commitment to its customers. The fault with my car was a time consuming job. I had to go to the garage on 3 occasions. Each time I was warmly and courteously welcomed. As a new customer my car was given a thorough inspection as part of the service and other minor issues were highlighted and recorded for future reference. I was provided with a loan car to use as I needed on all occasions. There was even petrol in it! In the past when I have had loan cars with other company I have been scared stiff to use, but with Thorobred they were so relaxed and informal about the process. My appointments were arranged in advance and I was able to drop off my car the day before and collect the loan car early because of work commitments. The repairs were carried out in a timely manner. I was given a price for the job in advance and the final bill was £80 less than expected. My car was even cleaned. To be honest, the whole process was so stress-free that on the last occasion I actually forgot that my car was in the garage! I was also able to return the loan car and collect my car at my convenience. A thoroughly professional hassle-free experience. I recommend this garage and the fabulous people that own and run it!

I am perhaps idiotic, but none the less the proud owner of a phase 2 Alfa Romeo Spider. Since owning the car earlier this year, Thorobred cars have changed the timing belt, water pump, and serviced the vehicle for a very competitive price. More recently I had a split power steering hose replaced, a specialist part no longer made. Unlike my more local garage, they managed to source a replacement part and fix my car quickly. They are clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about Italian cars, which I am sure saves not just money, but inconvenience, and time.

I've used Thorobred on and off since 2008 and would definitely recommend them to anyone. The work they carry out is done to the highest standard and I've never had cause to take my car back a second time for work that they've carried out.They are always happy to answer any questions and are a wealth of knowledge. They even tolerate weekend "mechanics" like me asking incessant questions while they're trying to work ! :)

I've been on the look out for a good Alfa Romeo garage in a good while and with the arrival of a little project GTV I thought I'd give the most local place to me a try after some positive reviews on the Alfa Owners Forum. My first impressions were great; Clive and Lloyd were very interested in Alfa's and I got impression straightaway that they would treat the car as their own. This was helped by the fact that Lloyd's knowledge of the Spider 916/GTV chassis and components was (is) flawless. The best part about the experience was that I got a lesson on what was wrong including the component that was failing. I then got my own personal plan of what needs to be targeted in the future and what needs to kept an eye on. All of this extra and as far as I can see, just part of normal service and part of a more than reasonable price. The car got a wash, I was kept up to date and it was a pleasant experience. I even learned a bit about Alfa Sud's from Clive which as an Alfa enthusiast, is welcome. I'll be using them again there is no doubt about that.

I have owned my 916 Alfa gtv T.s for ten years. I have always taken my car to Thorobred cars, the reason being the great service, advice and knowledge regarding most cars. Being an Alfa owner one if the most important things is to have a good garage you can trust to do the job correctly and to the standards set only by the factory. If you don't want to pay main dealer prices and get the same/better quality of work done for a much better price go to Thorobred cars in Shepperton. The only time I didn't go to Thorobred for an oil change it cost me a new engine. We won't mention the clowns who did that. But thanks to Thorobred my car was back to it fully functioning self with a week!!!! Thanks to Lloyd who done an amazing job....thank you Lloyd. And It always comes back clean,shinny and feeling like new. Your be hearing from me soon need a service...as a long standing Alfa owner I recommend this garage.

Ive been taking my car here for a while now and always recived a warm welcome from all of the male and female staff. Its nice to have my car washed every time i collect it and a free courtesy car is always helpful. Having had bad experences in the past with other garages, I wouldnt go anyware else now.

I took my car to Thorobred for its MOT and additionally had a full service. The full staff there are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. What struck me most was how approachable the mechanics were and how happy they were to discuss the problems with my car and explain the technical bits to me. The garage is clean, tidy and appears well maintained. I had no issues with leaving my car there over night whist some work was done. The price was fair and the work very well done - my car passed the MOT and is running better than ever. I'll be taking my car back again for its MOT next year and would highly recommend this particular garage.
